Background and Experience
I have my bachelor and master degrees in psychology from the National Taiwan University. After a few years of practice in Taiwan, I moved to the U.S. and enrolled at Vanderbilt University, where I obtained a PhD in Clinical Psychology in 1990. I have licenses to practice psychology in Washington state. My past work experience in hospitals, child mental health centers, college counseling centers, and nursing homes have given me broad, in-depth experience and understanding in providing psychological services to a diverse range of individuals and families. My clients range in age from children to seniors; they are from various racial and ethnic backgrounds as well. I am competent to conduct psychological evaluations and therapy in Mandarin Chinese and English.
Philosophy of Psychology
The relationship between a psychologist and the client is based on trust. It is a privilege for me to be invited into my client’s inner world; it is also a great responsibility for me to take on your trust in working with you to achieve your goals and reach inner peace. We have to work as a team to reach the desired outcomes. I believe the utmost goal for any psychotherapy is to help clients reach a point where they are at peace.
